| Ungno Lee is an artist with special artistic world and self-improved painter, as a Korean, Japanese, western painter in modern history, he found a new breakthrough among letter image, he expanded a new artistic world, opened a new Korean artistic page, he achieved a high reputation for Korean art in the world. This thesis studies on the representative abstract art of letters by Ungno Lee, reveals the intrinsic factors and rules of his art, which will have special significance on understanding the international development of the Korean arts. In this thesis the author thinks that the abstract art of letter by Ungno Lee depended on his active application of symbolic, calligraphic, pictographic natures of letter, and recreated article languages through new reorganization. At the same time he combined east and west in water ink field, his excellent achievement in composition created an exclusive expression. Ungno Lee started from oriental culture, opened his unique artistic road in Europe among the conflicts and combinations between east and west, and his art has the worldwide and oriental characteristics, he is the most Korean artist. He clearly shows us the direction of oriental arts towards the internationalization. |
