the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period is important in Chinese evolution .XunZi(荀子 ),finished in the late Warring States Period, can completely reflects the lingual features of late Old Chinese with its strict expression and colloquial language style. Large new conjunctions appeared besides primary conjunctions. Definitude of conjunctional property,stabilization of grammatical function laid the foundation for basal conjunctional system. The study of XunZi(荀子) is significant in research of the history of the Chinese language and Former ancient Chinese dynastic history, having a great value of research in Chinese grammaticalization, differentiate and analyze of conjunctions and preposition of XunZi(荀子).Based on this background, The thesis microscopically and microcosmic examined the conjunctions in Xunzi(荀子) The thesis first take the whole conjunctions of Xunzi(荀子) as main research object, carrying on complete investigation, statistics, and depict the grammatical function of conjunctions . In specific research, we stress diachronically investigating the conjunctions, namely case study about some typical conjunctions. We search on the courses of conjunctional grammaticalization by means of the theory of grammaticalization and methods with semantics. Then we differentiate and analyze the difference of grammatical function of synonymous conjunctions through comparison and try to give some explain in diachronic aspect. Finally we probe the laws of conjunctional grammaticalization and ways.The thesis firstly comprehensively traces the source of conjunctions in Xunzi(荀子), seeks the course and reasons of grammaticalization, probes into the rules of conjunctional grammaticalization and features. We conclude that grammaticalization and loan homonym are the main source of conjunction. Grammaticalization is composed of conjunction from verb, preposition and so on according origin. The changes of semantic relationship and grammatical function conduce to grammaticalization. Reanalysis and analogy play an important roles in the grammaticalization . In conclusion, Conjunctional system had established in the late Warring States Period, which go toward strict grammatical function, fixed form, systematization.
