Salty Analysis Of The Ethnic Relations In Yunnan And Guizhou In The Same Year

For nearly 25 years from Xianfeng to Tongzhi during Qing Dynasty, Chinese society had been with turbulence and chaos: Qing government became more and more depravity, encountered multifarious difficulties, underwent innumerable disaster, and finally Chinese people suffered impoverishment. At this time, however, the invaders eyed covetously and came in a continuous stream. Under this situation, Chinese society's ethnic relations began to transform into modern form. Yunnan and Guizhou area which multi- nationalities lived together became the typical region for this self-transmutation. So it provided the appropriate illustration for us to study the ethnic relations of social transformation. This article attempts to analyze the ethnic relations from Xianfeng to Tongzhi during Qing Dynasty according to the regional angle, revolving the essential factors which influence the ethnic relations, the form of the ethnic relations, pries into the characteristic and the trend of ethnic relations in that period, and summarizes the beneficial experience for the harmonious construction of the Chinese Nation and the society of the western China.The first part is the preface, and is in detail elaborated the goal and the significance of this topic, introduced the related important research results as well as the research method. The second part divides into three chapters, and is the key point which this article must discuss. The first chapter introduces the geography characteristic, the historical evolution, the national ingredient condition of Yunnan and Guizhou area from the regional angle, and based on this facts, summarizes the basic pattern of ethnic relations before the Opium War in 1840. The second chapter sums the basic forms of ethnic relations this time from the various factors such as the time background, the Qing government's national policy in the Yunnan and Guizhou area, the foreign country's territory and religion invasion in the southwest. And through comparing with the preliminary pattern of ethnic relations, this chapter attempts to summarize the characteristic of its self-transmutation. On the basis of the first two chapters, the third chapter try to discuss the trend of ethnic relations in that period, in order to highlight it's transitional characteristic from the spontaneous development to the conscious development of the Chinese Nation.The third part is the conclusion to the thesis, with the background from Xianfeng to Tongzhi during Qing Dynasty, the thesis carries out the longitudinal macroscopic analysis and discussion for ethnic relations in Yunnan and Guizhou area. The thesis focuses on the course of the Chinese nation's self-recognition in modern times through searching the development of ethnic relations in Yunnan and Guizhou area, and tries to summarize some experiences and lessons which could offer some beneficial references for the development of the western China and harmonious construction of the society.
