The ideas about "Yun" , including "Yun" category, the ideas about the rhyme and tone of words and profundity in meaning ,stood on an important position in the history of the classical Chinese literature and theory. But as I know till now the systematical study about this wasn't enough, especially during the period from the Wei dynasty to the Southern dynasties. The dissertation was written based on the knowledge that the ideas about "Yun" in different dynasties was a successively developing entirety. And the main intention of this thesis is to inspect what and why the ideas about "Yun" were during the period from the Wei dynasty to the Southern dynasties, including both the producing and developing process and the concerned background, to try to find the trace and signs of the development from the subtleties. The leading comments and methodology introduction part gave a brief account of the knowledge and methods the dissertation based on, and indicate the necessity and importance of the study besides specific understanding of the ideas about "Yun" during the period from Wei dynasty to the Southern dynasties . At chapter I , the researching for the origin of character "Yun" indicate that "Yun" appeared earliestly in the Han dynasty, relating to the character "Jun" "Yin" "Yun" "Yuan" , in another words, relating to tuning musical instrument and melodious souds. Consequently the ideas about "Yun" may probably be influenced by the aestheric taste of music. At chapter II, On stage of the period in Wei dynasty. Although the character "Yun" itself also was used in the instrumental music field, the new situation the judgement of "the literature rely mainly on Qin" brought about got rid of the obstacles in the development way of the ideas of "Yun" .The fresh and out-of-the-way appearance of Ruanji and JiKang's poems was treated as ancestors of the romantic charm poems groups at later periods. And in the philosophy field the prosperous metaphysics made the ideological guidelines raised, laying a ontological and methological foundation for the branch focused on the profundity in meaning of the system of ideas about "Yun" .There were a few examples being in line with the principles of sound collocation found by later periods in the field of literary creation, which indicate that the ideas about the rhyme and tone of words was in a unconscious condition. Chapter III, In the west and east Jin period, the character "Yun" began to be used in the figure appraisals, in which the aesthetic tendency toward the fresh and out-of-the-way beauty and abstraction partly determined the aesthetic characteristics of "Yun" category. Besides, the character "Yun" was also used to be substitute for the literature creation and to describe the characteristics of literary creation and poems' figure and features. And in this period , the theory of Luji ,luyun and the according other examples illuminated that the ideas about the rhyme and tone of words tend to become conscious. The sounds' importance was attached to those days, which adding with the activities of reciting poems were factors worthy of attention. Besides the knowledge of XuanXue, the figure and features of TaoYuanming's poems offord another model for the romantic charm poems group. Chapter IV, in the Southern dynasties, the scope of "Yun" concept was extended, and the depth deepened, being used in the fields of the figure appraisals and literature comments (some about sound, others about the whole characteristics). "Yun" concept was more abstract, and "Qinyun", "Shenyun" category appeared, which hadfar-reaching influence. In the new field——painting and calligraphyfield, the unique particularity of "Yun" concept was not hard to find. The theory about the rhyme and tone of words in literature of Yongming period and in the book of was conscious and systematical, extending to the knowledge of standard according to which devived the styles of literature and even to knowledge of the essence of literature. The ideal figure and features of "Yinxiu" put forword by liuxie and the new interpretation of "Xin" in the book of (the literary part was over, leaving prolonged aftertaste) had realized the existence beyond the literary level, for which the Southern dynasties were important stages for the development of the ideas about profoundity in meaning.
