| This dissertation which observes and studies the all of the degree adverbs in the storybook "QILUDENG" that was published in Qing dynasty. We use the grammaticalization thoery to analyze the sentences which contain degree advebs in the book synchronicly and diachronicly, that try to get a better recognization of the degree adverbs'.Grammaticalisation, also referred to as semantic bleaching, lexicalization. It mainly means the change whereby lexical terms and constructions come in certain linguistic contexts to serve grammatical functions. Grammaticalisation is unidirectly and historically.There are rules and some certain frames which can cause the "Grammaticalisation".Linguists have different opinions on the rules and frames of the grammaticalization.By the studies of the domestic linguists, some rules and frames have been found: metaphor, inference, generalization, enstrongth, move and typical indentification.In the idiographic studies, we mainly consult the seven rules of Shi Yuzhi,Lee Ne(2001) and Zhang Yisheng's opinion on the frames of grammaticalisation of adverbs.(2000) When we analize a special degree adverbs we consult the other linguist's opinion on the word.Degree adverb is one important kind of the adverb in Chinese, which has not been deeply studied by linguists, especially in modern Chinese.Degree adverb is kind of the most active and important adverb in the book "QILUDENG", they are used widely and commonly and have many states, such as original words, developed words, generalization word and completed words.According to the studies, we find that the degree adverbs in "QILUDENG" have a typically process of grammaticalisation. For example, the word "da" developed fllow a chain:body...>material...>things...>space...>time...>quality".Degree adverbs mainly developed from adjective. It was transformed by metaphor and mytonymy at the place of adverbial modifier.From the study, we also find that the complement place behind the adjective verb is an important frame which cause the grammaticalisation too."shifen","jin",eg.Psychological cognitive and Subjective cognitive play a very important role in the process of grammaticalisation of degree adverbs. |
