Coping was an important intervenient mediator between stress and mental health. Even facing the same stressor, the levels of mental adaptability of students were changeable based upon what kinds of coping styles they used. In such rapidly changing society, undergraduates had to face growing stresses, especially for national minority students. Therefore, it was necessary to find out how national minority students to cope stresses, and to explore what kinds of problems they usually difficult to cope, as well as what kinds of intervention would be benefit to them? For instance, whether these students can effectively cope with various stresses of their life to avoid being hurt? If they cannot do it, then what kinds of intervention/ training methods would be effectively used for them? All above said questions formed the initial purpose of my study.As a factor, positive and healthy coping is very important for students to adapt the society. In the field of education, the study and implement of coping are important to establish a positive educational ecological environment, especially for the realization of higher educational goal. For national minority students, good coping style can promote them to adjust to the campus lives, to develop their potential and personalities.In my research, the concepts of coping styles and coping-skill training were introduced and relevant methods of growing group counseling and case study were also applied to improving national minority students' coping styles. All subjects were selected from the grade one of Yunnan National Minority University. Based on the categories and the proportion of national minority students, the subjects were divided into four groups: the Han people group, the Bai people group, the Yi people group and the integrated little minority group.
