| Based on the investigation of the Chinese character writing of Thai WALAILAK university students, this article analyzes the factors that influence their writing and the reasons that cause the errors, and proposes the corresponding methods to improve the Chinese character teaching .With the method of quota statistics, this article analyzes the numbers of Chinese character strokes and parts, the influence of character shapes and the topology type to the learning of Chinese character of Thai university students. Through the massive data statistics, the article comes to four conclusions: (1) In the processing of Chinese character, the Thai university students have an effect of the stroke numbers and parts number, 7 is possibly their critical points of Chinese character writing difficulty. From this point, their learning process of Chinese character can be divided into three stages: the initial stage—strokes are used as leaning units; the intermediate stage—strokes and the parts play a joint role; the higher stage—the awareness of Chinese character approaches to that of the natives unceasingly. (2) Some sole character shapes such as "丿","(?)" , "(?)"and some compound character shapes such as "(?)" are difficult for Thai university students to grasp. (3) In the four structure types of Chinese character, the crosswise structure is the most difficult for them. Besides the sole-body characters, in the 18 kinds of topology structures of Chinese character, the second type of left-below part enclosing the right in the surrounding structure, the right two parts arranged in vertical direction in the crosswise structure and the upper two parts arranged crosswise in the longitudinal structure are the three kinds of structures which are more difficult to grasp.
