The Book of Liang Dinasty was written in Sui Dinasty and finished in earlyTang Dinasty which is the terminal stage of middle ancient Chinese. The material of this book is highly trustworthy and comprehensive, the language of it is terseness and they can really reflect the language of this time. Although it is an important part of the study of Chinese grammar, conjunction study is far from enough. Therefore, we choose to target on the conjunctions on The Book of Liang Dinasty, so as to provide some reference to the study of Chinese grammar.We trying to analyse the development of the conjunctions on The Book of Liang Dinasty and reveal it's position in the history of Chinese grammar through historical comparision and synchronic study. Basing on detailed investigation, all of the conjunctions in The Book of Liang Dinasty are described and analyzed. According to our study, there are 149 conjunctions in the Book, 58 of them belonging to middle ancient Chinese and 91 belonging to remote ancient Chinese. Many other new words with the same meaning, which were used in other synchronous documents are unfounded. There are 85 disyllabic conjuttions in The Book of Liang Dinasty , occupying 57.05 percent of the whole. Among the whole 85 disyllabic conjunctions in the book, there are 44 belong to remote ancient Chinese, occupying 51.76 percent, and 41 belong to middle ancient Chinese, occupying 48.23 percent. They reflect the disyllabic feature of middle ancient Chinese in some degree. Wording structure of disyllabic conjunctions has been well improved.Through analyzing, the general style and characteristic of the conjunctions of the book are outlined: the amount is relativly great, the meaning of the words become more perfect; the conjunctions belonging to remote Chinese are used more; Disyllabic feature is obvious. Style of the terminal stage of middle ancient Chinese are fully reflected.Case study targeting on three conjuctions: " Jiayi (加以), Jiazhi (加之)", " Dan (但) ", " Yidan (一旦)", analyzed the prosess and causation of them.
