| The Book of Song Dynasty, written by Shen Yue, is the most integrated history recode of Song Dynasty which is now available. The material in this book is highly trustworthy and comprehensive, well representing the popular language style of that period. Therefore, the Book of Song Dynasty is quite useful to our research on the Middle Ages Chinese.At present, regarding to the research on the Book of Song Dynasty, academe is more focusing on the edition revision, wording explanation and checking side. Comparing with this, lots of studies need to be improved on the grammatical side. Therefore, we choose to target on the conjunctions of the Book, hoping to provide reference and contribution to the research on the history of Chinese grammar.The paper is organized with three chapters. The first chapter, "Summary", briefly introduces the background, research values and status of the Book of Song Dynasty, then introduces the research content and methods, finally explains the standard of identification and classification of the conjunctions. The second chapter, "Outline of the conjunctions of the Book", classifies and describes all the conjunctions of the Book based on detailed examination, analyzing the usage of these conjunctions, and then outlines the general style and characteristic of the conjunctions of the Book: the amount is relatively great, the meaning of the words becomes convenient and perfect; double—syllabic conjunctions predominate in the new words; Wording structure has been well improved. The third chapter, "Case Study", targeting on three conjunctions: "Yao" , "Yin'er" and "Buwen, Bulun" , analyzes the process and causation of their grammaticalization. |
