Spanish folk music is well known for its unique art charm all the time. Isaac Albeniz is one of the key persons and founders, honored as "the pioneer of Spanish music". He related Spanish folk music and piano by the means of piano technique imitation, making Spanish folk music take a new look. Being very appealing, his compositions enjoy the popularity from different types of people.Composed in London, 'Suit Espanola'(op.47), one of Albeniz's masterpieces, consists of 8 independent compositions deriving from the folk music in different areas in Spain, such as 'Granada', 'Cataluna', 'Sevilla' and etc. In it, Albeniz conveyed his homesickness.This article will analyze 'Suit Espanola' in terms of melody and rhythm with the purpose of seeking for the common technique applied in Spanish piano compositions.The author has found that a considerable number of such techniques as Three related notes, Syncopated rhythms and Dot rhythms are adopted in composing 'Suit Espanola'(op.47). Not only is gaining a good knowledge of culture related needed when playing the Spanish piano music, but also having a grasp of the techniques used in composing Spanish music is necessary. And, our piano teaching will be promoted as well.
