| Rodion Konstantinovich Shchedrin is a renowned contemporary Russian pianist,composer and musical social activist.He composed in a wide range of genres and chose a variety of subjects.As one of the leading Russian composers of the second half of the20 th century,Scheindlin’s music is unique in its own way.His works are combining20 th century modern music composition techniques with traditional musical language to create his own unique musical style.The pianistic music of Shchedrin,who was also a pianist,has played an important part in his work,and his favourite miniature.A La Albeniz,from 1959,is a work that was written in the early stages of Shchedrin’s career,using the musical style of the Spanish composer Albeniz.In this paper,we analyse the structure of the work and the main points of its performance,exploring the composer’s flexible use of the elements of Spanish folk art in the piece.It seeks to contribute to the understanding of the musical style of this piece by piano players and to make this paper a reference. |
