There is a large number of classic repertoires for classical guitar are derived from the adaptation of works for other instrument.As an instrument with a significant national identity in Spain,the adaptation of the classical guitar includes a considerable part of Spanish national style works,such as D.Scarlatti’s partial keyboard works,part of the piano works by Albéniz and Granados and so on.Issac Albéniz was one of the most outstanding representatives of the Spanish national music school in the late 19 th century.Many of his piano works not only have very important artistic value in the piano field,but are also heavily adapted into orchestral performances.His unique style influenced many Spanish composers deeply at that time and raised the Spanish national music to a higher level.His "Suite Espa?ola"(Op.47)is an important piece of his second period,which is composed of eight pieces with different styles.Due to the strong Spanish style of this work,these pieces in the suite were successively adapted into classical guitar versions and are widely circulated.This article begins with the classical guitar adaptation of Albéniz’s piano suite “Suite Espa?ola”.In the first chapter,a brief introduction to the composition background and motivation of Albéniz’s “Suite Espa?ola” is made,and the historical reasons and the current situation for the classical guitar adaptation are generally sorted out.The second chapter discusses the changes between the classical guitar adaptation and the origin piano scores in different aspects,such as tonality,chords,register,melody,rhythm,and shows the expressiveness of the classical guitar by analyzing the unique guitar technique such as slur,harmonic,rasguado,arpeggio and so on,in order to excavates the advantages and disadvantages of the classical guitar adaptation.The third chapter tries to make a proper evaluation of the different classical guitar versions of this suite,such as Tarrega,Segovia,barrueco,and other classical guitar composers.In the fourth chapter,the classical guitar playing techniques and musical features are analyzed in depth to help the performers understand the work more deeply,close to the original meaning of the composer and the adaptor,and enhance the expressiveness of the music in the performance.
