Sounds having no lament or joy is one of the hottest argument in the area of XuanXue(玄学). From the perspective of comparative poetics ,the thesis focuses on Ji Kang's aesthetic thought on traditional music, discussing its causes,features as well as its antagonism toward that of Classical Confucian texts. By referring to the theories of Hermeneutics, the article explains how time spirit and philosophical thought in the Period of Wei and Jin influences Ji Kang's aesthetic thought on music, in another words, exploring in the domain of music, how Xuan Xue (玄学)counters and deconstructs Classical Confucianism and how Xuan Xue (玄学)affects people's mentation and existence ideal.The first chapter of the thesis examines two aspects that impact the formation of Ji Kang's aesthetic thought. The first is time spirit of the Period of Wei and Jin——the thriving of Xuan Xue(玄学),the declining of Confucianism,the transformation of intellectuals'ideal,from identifying with the colony to pursuing personal spiritual freedom. The second is Ji Kang's personality——his ideal of going beyond tenets of Confucianism and letting it be.
