Kunming Students' Mental Health Status And Coping Styles Of Research

The senior high school students are at a critical stage of physical and psychological development, facing the high pressure of college entrance examination or employment. So it is a stage that psychological conflicts and emotional, behavioral problems occur frequently. Many investigations show that the mental health of Chinese senior high school students is not optimistic. Many relevant studies both home and abroad have shown that coping styles are an important factor which influence mental health, so it is very important for making a study on senior high school students' mental health, coping style and their relationship.This thesis make a study on senior high school students' mental health and coping style, to understand the status of the senior high school students' mental health, coping styles and their relationship, to analyse the reasons for the senior high school students of mental health problem, and to explore means and measures of solving the problem.This study adopts approach of questionnaire by using SCL-90 scale and the Ways of Coping Checklist_Revised, 683 students from four ordinary high schools of Kunming were involved to answer the questionnaire, the results are shown in the following:1.The scores of the senior high school students' mental health in all factors are significantly higher than the counterpart in the norms of Chinese middle school students. The mental health status of girls is commonly lower than that of boys. The mental health status of students coming from county is commonly lower than that of students coming from city. The mental health status of students from rural area is commonly lower than that of students from urban area. Totally the status of the needy students' mental health is poorer than that of others.
