The Study On Relationship Between Parental Rearing Patterns,Coping Styles And Mental Health Of Senior Students In Primary School

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among parenting style,coping style and mental health test on senior students in primary school.The object of investigate is 301 students on grade 4-6 at primary schools in Nanning.Base on these test materials EMBU(Revised Edition),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ)and mental health test(MHT)we draw the following conclusions:1.There is significant differences between male and female students in their father’s excessive interference and severe punishment.There is significant differences between only child and non only son in their mother’s emotional warmth and understanding.2.There is significant differences between male and female students in negative coping styles.There is significant differences among grade 4,grade 5 and grade 6 in positive coping styles.3.There is significant differences between male and female students in loneliness tendency and the terror tendency;There is significant differences between the only and non only in learning anxiety,physical symptoms,terror tendency and impulse tendency;There is significant differences among grade 4-6 in the anxiety of the people living in significant differences.4.There is a significant correlation between the scores of each factor in the parenting style and the scores of each factor in the mental health.5.There is a significant negative correlation between positive coping style and loneliness;There is a significant negative correlation among coping style and learning anxiety,the anxiety,loneliness tendency,allergic tendency,self accusation tendency,body symptom,terrorist tendency,impulsion.6.There is a significant positive correlation among parent’ emotional warmth,understanding,mothers’ preference and positive coping style;There is a significant positive correlation among father’s punishment,severity,father’s preference,father’s refusal,denial,father’s excessiveprotection,mother’s excessive interference,mother’s punishment and negative coping style.There is a significant negative correlation between mothers’ preference and negative coping style.8.Mother’s over protection,negative coping style and mothers’ preference can positively predict learning anxiety significantly;the mothers’ refused,negative coping style,fathers’ over protection can significantly positively predict physical symptoms;fathers’ rejection and negative coping style could positively predict tendency terror significant.
