This article is a study on Jia Zhang ke's films from the perspective of the auteur theory. The main body of this version concludes three chapters, except for the introduction and the epilogue.The first chapter is the analysis of Jia Zhang ke's "Independent Film" characteristics and its significance for China film production system. The second chapter mentions three themes of Jia Zhang ke's films, which consisted of the experience of the Low Class in modernization, the identity crisis of Adolescent, popular culture in the course of social transformation. The third chapter discusses the style of Jia Zhang ke's films, which includes open-ended narrative strategies, long take and sound. He broke narrative pattern and shot skill of old films in China, and formatted his own special style.In conclusion, Jia Zhang ke is one of the excellent directors in the world and a great movie author.
