This paper is about 'Hunting in art from Eastern Zhou (Chunqiu-Zhanguo) to Eastern Han dynasty'. Because of the confines of material, the paper focused on bronze and carving stones. In the first part, the hunting-- bronzes were sorted into 3 kinds, according to their own ways to make hunting patterns on the bronzes. In this sort of bronzes, the hunters who fought against the animals presented the power of human being,. Contrast to the bronzes in Shang, the patterns on the bronzes in Eastern Zhou had come into the real life. The second part discussed the change of hunting in Han dynasty. In that era, the popularity of the heavenly omens influenced the pictorial ideas. And everything, of course including the hunting, was going on in that atmosphere. The third part was more complex. There's a close relationship between the hunting and carriage. If you want to explain the meaning of the hunting in the tomb art, you have to work out the relationship at first. Because we cannot tell the meaning out of the context. That's exactly what the writer did in this part.In the end, the writer underlined the importance of idea. Whatever the hunting pattern changed, they still spoke for their own era.
