On The Design Thought Of Carriage In Kao Gong Ji

Kao Gong Ji, an important science and technology work in the period of Pre-Qin Dynasty, which gathered together experience of the handicraft industry at that time and achieved a very high level of understanding on some technique, method and rule, is our ancients' crystallize by long-term hard labor practice. Mr. Zhang Dao Yi praised it had showed "the spirit of science, humanities spirit, and the most valuable spirit of creation of Chinese nation ". This paper think the spirit is more concentration on building up a carriage.By detail reading the part contents of the carriage of Kao Gong Ji and clarifying some difficulties and controversy, this paper faithfully reappears the process of building carriages and the structure diagram of the carriage of the period of CHUN QIU and ZHAN GUO Dynasty, finally we acquire the ancients' proficentence and intelligence of building. We think, there are three aspects of the design thought in Kao Gong Ji, the first one is the instinct request of the persuasion of precision, meticulous, practice, reflected by reasonableness spirit; the second one is the humanist spirit in design; the third one is the Harmonious spirit in design.The ancients have a very astonish attitude on creation. On one hand, they strictly follow technique rule in the creation process, step by step, following the sequence gradually and treating the creation as a pure object, so the thing is a tool in their eyes at this time; on the other hand, when they view the creation as a whole one ,it come to us as a part of our lives. At that time, the creation and I become a whole one.This paper discovers the ancients' thought through reading by adopting the research methods of text analysis and theories argument etc. The paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the origins of the Chinese ancient carriage. It reappears the society culture and economy and technique condition by analyzing the time of interest of carriage of ZHOU Dynasty and society background.The second part is the explanation of the carriage of Kao Gong Ji.The third part is the spirit of science and technology reasonableness showed by Kao Gong Ji.The fourth part elaborates the cultural idea of carriage by using the theories of culture and signature.The fifth part is the summary of apocalypse of modern design showed by Kao Gong Ji.
