Lao She And Zhang Ailing Public Novel Comparative Study

The thesis is trying to compare the novels written by Lao She and Zhang Ai-ling. The whole text is divided into four chapters. The first chapter mainly disserts their notify and expression to civil society and life from macroscopic aspect. Because staying different background, their statements also show difference. Lao She received Beijing's thousands of years cultural essence, profound culture makes him parse different cultural personality of traditional civil society using cultural visual. Zhang Ai-ling lived in Shanghai which has been semi-colony and somi-feudal, the shocking of money and desire make her feel deeply the humanistic pessimistic, depraved and changed under the oppressing of commercial civilization. Their novels base on the citizen, the special hierarchy of Chinese modern society , so the city life chosen by authors, details' devising, portrait molding etc., all show the peculiar popular-interest of civil culture. These are the 2~nd chapter. About their attention to the female's fate, the third chapter mainly discusses how they studied female's fate. Lao She continued his all-time enlightening theme, using clear mode to announce that the traditional male-society brought about the female's tragedy. Zhang Ai-ling relied on herself deep experience, putting the female under the background of the male-power loss, investigating the female's enslaving mentality which brought out the humanistic tragedy, thus showing the enlightening theme in the indistinct mode. Finally the thesis stops for a rest on their styles. Both of them show their special love incomedyn humor or sarcasm, entrusting one side and looking after both sides. Different styles originate different experience and career, including the affection of different cultural accumulation. The whole text, no matter the contents comparing or the styles comparing, I only want to study from different aspect that facing to the same subject the authors of different regionsn different gender and different career may occur what difference and similarity, and this may be a kind of showing of literary diversity.
