So the development of modern Chinese painting and oriental painting are facing the matters of "imitate ancient" and "combination western".The scholars who investigated the Chinese painting focus on how to inherit, how to develop, and how to innovate all the time; which is the key point of discussion in the fields of painting, history and academe, also it's the focus of painting study. In these years, with the effort of academe scholars, Chinese culture open to the world, painting manner and craftsmanship development, mogu painting as one of Chinese traditional painting skills is exploring and developing. Mogu painting's development includes not only manner and craftsmanship but also the theoretic and creative consciousness. The mogu painting hasn't been taken into account even though in the new century. Therefore, in this article we discuss the modern mogu painting, and want to provide the revelation and reference for modern mogu painting's further development.This article discusses "Yun Shou Ping and modern mogu painting "from following three parts:First, the history of mogu painting, which based upon it's origin, development and decadence especially the development of flower-and-bird mogu painting;Second, the taste of mogu painting in the name of Yun Shou Ping, which try to analyze the standard mogu painters, use the past to illume the present, expound the development of modern mogu painting;Third, using the relevant theory and datum and combining the understanding from practices, to expound the opinion innovation and painting craftsmanship improvement of modern painting. According to present exhibitions, books and many painters' worksof both domestic and abroad, it's a trend to make a prospect of the development of modern mogu painting.Mogu painting as one necessary part of Chinese traditional painting art, exists more than one thousand years, although it's weak in modern Chinese painting comparatively, it's developing continually. Mogu manner is derived from Zhang Sheng Yao's "embossed flower" in North-South dynasty and innovate by Xu Xi of Wu dynasty, until North-Song dynasty it's established as mogu painting clique by Xu Chong Si. At beginning, it's called "ink line", no matter what you drawing, the flower, foliage; the first step is to draw the image by ink, then add light color on the ink-line, which is totally different from the Huang Quan's drawing outline, filling color. The grandson Xu Chong Si of Xu Xi drawing by more colores directly according to the hue of the object, which makes great progress of "ink bone" and this is called "color painting" of mogu painting. Such as water lily, using the red color with water to coloration, the same method to drawing the leaf.
