| The new historical novel, originating in 1985 or 1986, came up to the contemporary literary world in the form of experimental texts, re-explained history with new concept of history, with new ideology of history. It has characteristics out of ordinary. Many critics have explored it and have discussed it. This paper is based on the case study of the narrative of new historical novel, and it attempts, from narrative type and narrative characteristic and narrative intention, to approach the differences of new historical novel with traditional historical novel and with those revolutionary historical novel as well as approaching the "newness" of new historical novel so as to provide rationality and legality for their existence. The paper consists of four parts: Above-said action, Chapter One to Chapter Three. In above-said action, the author introduces the reason why the choose the topic as his research, the study course in China, the importance, the purpose, the theoretical framework and the aim of the study.Chapter One reports the narrative change. The author discussed two main types: re-narrate and fabricate, on the base of definition of history and historical narrative, and discusses clearly the family narrative in the last section of this chapter.Chapter Two discusses the narrative characteristic. The characteristics are reflected in three aspects, that is, folk discourses, limited perspectives and context truthfulness. With folk discourses increasing, the ideological conclusions of politics rooted in our mind are converted. The limited interior perspectives changed the relationships and implications of historical events. All these overturn the so-called truthfulness and authority of the contexts.Chapter Three consists of two sections. One section goes into theintention of fable, the other section goes into the intention of parody and irony. They all have obvious post-modern character and high express in art.In the all, the paper is a more systematic study on new historical novel, summing up the value and importance of narrative. I believe that the paper will be a contribute to contemporary literate, and that contemporary literate will be good in the future. |
