This is the beginning of the dissertation. Its purpose is to be convenient for reader to understand the key point and character of the dissertation.Chapter two briefly introduces the general situation of Mongolian from its population, distribution condition and history.Chapter three analyzes the intension of Mongolian costume culture. Mongolian costume is the Mongolian "mark" which has the cohesion function for the clansman. Mongolian people usually dress the best costume in the important festival. We call it festival costume. This expresses the special relation between the national costume and the festival. Mongolian costume can transmit the information of one's social status, age and marriage. Mongolian costume exhibits its use value, namely function. At the same time, it reflects the Mongolian environment, the natural worship and totem concept. Therefore, we can understand the brief condition of Mongolian culture from Mongolian costume.Chapter four deeply analyzes the diversity of Mongolian costume culture. Many clans lives on the Mongolian Plateau in history. Their costume are different in part because of the different origin and the different belief. However because of the same mode of production and habits and customs, their costume is same basically. After establishing Mongolian country, the style and basic color of costume is unanimous. But there are different styles in folk. Soon afterwards, because of the politic and economic development in the Yuan dynasty, the Ming dynasty and the Qing dynasty until now, Mongolian costume have happened greatchanges. At the same time, because of the environment changes and the influence between nations, the Mongolian costume keeps the national character and highlight local feather.Chapter five objectively analyzes the changes of Mongolian costume. As a culture phenomenon, costume is the product of history. It has changes with the social improvement and development. This part will expound the changes of Mongolian costume mainly from the material, style, color and craft.
