Intellectual's Dream

As one of the important writers in Taiwan literary world, Zhang Xiguo has the deep attaching for the Mainland literature, so he devotes himself to pay attention to the life , humanity and think about the destiny, future of human beings. On one hand, his novels paid attention to Taiwan reality and overseas life about Chinese and students abroad, in which we can see the dissimilation of humanity brought by modern economy development. On the other hand, his novels also paid attention to the plight of people' s life and thought about the ultimate problem of human beings, which manifested the character of modernism. His novels merged science trait and literature trait and chose the essence of China and western countries so that his novels had the brilliant character. This article mainly had the texts reading and art analysis on his novels, that is to say, I want to grasp his novels' character through the writing topic, art form, aesthetics trait. This article can be divided into five parts:The first, I disclosed his "For Life" art ideality through analysis on his novels in which he had the attention to social reality, had the deep percipience to humanity and have the special sense to entity. His novels not only pay attention to reality and are based on reality, but animadvert on the society, scan humanity and pay attention to the people' s ultimate value through the logos level , which let his novels materialize the dual characters of realism and modernism.The second, I discussed his serious nation feeling expressed in his novels. In his novel, we can see the hero' s lonely and struggling state.This roaming destiny let him observe the people' s life state by the view of " entity" , through which we can look into his deep dependence and sincere heart clearly.The third , I pay more attention to his ultimate thinking about life. His science& fiction novels, which demonstrate a mysterious science world to us . Meanwhile he brought forward some philosophical propositions such as dissimilation, entity, history and so on. His dual identity made him see the dual use of technology, that is to say , when it does good to us, it also makes the humanism dissimilated. He thought about the human' s history and future at the level of culture, and proposed that we should take part in the history. According to this , I analyzed his novels by using Haidger' s new history theory to analyze the history view manifested in his novels, in which we can see the author' s understanding to life.The fourth, I analyzed his complex narration perspective by using narration theory. In his novels, on one hand, he paid attention to the inheritance of China traditional novels' form and characterized hero and exhibited the main topic through the dialogue and the development of people' s. on the other hand, he paid attention to absorb the western modernism literature' s exhibition techniques. Different narration perspective not only let his novels escape the singleness, but improve the characteristic feature of his novels.The fifth, I used the Russian formalism and England & American new criticism theory to analyze the strangeness and strong irony color expressed I his science fiction novels. He employed the strangeness art means completely through the strangeness of time and room, words,characters etc to set up a strange literary word world and construct an aesthetic room different from the average life, which led to an estrangement effect, made the distance between texts and reality world and made the familiar world strange and fresh to us. What is more, the universal irony technique is another factor which made his novels have the strong strangeness effect. Irony, different from the average satire, has the sense of mocking and is a paradox meaning state, which often expressed that when you refer to one thing, in fact there is rich latent words behind this, therefore the text has some narration tension, which let readers have some distances with narration and deepened the novels' irony sense.All in all, as a sane person looking for his dream in 60s and...
