ZHANG Hen-shui's novels couldn't neglected in Chinese modern literature. About 30 million words' works had been produced since he began writing in 1916, which was liked extensively by the people. LAO She called him "The only old writer known by the internal people". Today, his novels still have prosperous vitality in the people. JIN FEN SHI JIA ,the TV play adapted by ZHANG Hen-shui's same name novel which loved by the people is the proof. However, the writer who has own so much works has suffered unfair treatment in Chinese Modern literature history because his special literature characteristics that the new and the old both existed. It's the loss of literature history, and the sorrow of the time. In fact, ZHANG Hen-shui's value in literature history is not only in his contribution to the old popular literature's transformation from traditional characteristics to modern characteristics, but also in the important influence of his single exploration to the new literature. Prof.FAN Bo-qun has said : "The new literature and the popular literature are the two wings of the literature", "The literature history should be that of the two wings flying". The past critics most liked researching from the direction that the new literature affected the ZHANG Hen-shui, but the less found that ZHANG Hen-shui had affected the new literature, which hide the ZHANG Hen-shui's special charateristics to some extent, and made the popular literature which took ZHANG Hen-shui's novels as representative become the dependency of the new literature so that it can't appear the popular literature's value in literature history. Therefore, it is explored the relationship between the ZHANG Hen-shui's novels and the new literature from the direction of the influence ZHANG Hen-shui's novels to the new literature in this paper.In this paper, it is believed that there are the defying and the dialogue relationship between ZHANG Hen-shui's novels and the new literature. The defying is the premise of the dialogue. The aim of the defying is to dialogue with the new literature equally. It is discussed with two parts. The first part explores ZHANG Hen-shui's novels' defying to the new literature outside, analyses the defying manifestation from style, concept and theme three aspects and how it formed. The second part explores the dialogue relationship in nature between ZHANG Hen-shui's novels and the new literature, which expounds the necessity of the dialogue relationship, and which demonstrates the dialogue characteristics from three aspects of opposite, supplement and agree.
