Ding Ling is no doubt a distinguished one among the writers who entered the literary circle in 1920s. She is one of the few who continuously made giant achievements from the May Fourth Movement through to 1940s. The heroes and heroines in her works in the three decades changed such in identity, way of life and ideology that it is difficult to imagine that they came out from the same pen. The writer, from the perspective of a woman, studied society and history of China mainly through the experience of a woman in different historical periods and environments. This article argues that:(1) In the 1920s, The Diary of Lady Shafei, A Little House in the Qinyuan Lane and other works describe women' loneliness and melancholy in metropolitan cities showing their real life situation and existence in history from female perspective..(2) Her perspective turned in the 1930s from the free female perspective to the revolutionary female on with the intelligent female perspective still existing.(3) In the period of Yan'an ,she displayed from the perspective of a woman in the Liberated Area that the backward feudal spirit still prevails in the rural area and harmed the women in the area.(4) Her style but she kept critical to conservative culture analytical as to the feudal sense, creating a lot of images of lonely but rebellious women.
