There has been much dispute over the question of when the "Zhouli" come into being, such as the theory that Chou Gong wrote it, the West Chou Theory, the Spring and Autumn Period Theory, the Warring States Period Theory, the theory that it was written between Chou and Qin Dynasty, at the beginning of Han Dynasty theory, the theory that Liu Xin pseudo-graphed it. Although this issue has been contended by a lot of people, in fact it was not resolved all along. It is not agree with the important status of this book. The old name of "Zhouli" is "Zhouguan". Characteristically it is a book about the government official system. This book contains a series of magnificent and perfect official system, so we should start with the study of official name which is the most practical and the most direct way. The "Zhouli" conserved many valuable historical materials of official system of ancient times, the official datum adopted by author is mainly according to the official system of his age, the historical materials which come down from the former era, and his own ideal design. Therefore the issue we search for the age that the "Zhouli" was written is the question that the "Zhouli" official system is more tally with or more near to which era's official materials.The predecessor has procured plentiful and substantial progeny, but they basically circumfuse the West Chou official system or the general official system of the Chou Dynasty. For the "Zhouli", whose written time is very complicated, we can not entirely illuminate the written time of the "Zhouli" if we only study the West Chou period, we also need compare it with the official system of afterworld. The comparison and study of the official system of the Spring and Autumn Period and the "Zhouli" official system has not been done, which will be done in this article.The main content of this thesis can be divided into three parts.The first part, the dispute and study of the "Zhouli", mainly introduce the imbroglios about the written time of the book, which include all kinds of viewpoints, their constituencies, correlative composing and theses, at the same time it is also the learning history on the study of the "Zhouli". Then it summarizes and analyses the angle and method that the predecessor used in order to ascertain the research method of this thesis.The second part, collect and classify the Spring and Autumn Period official name. We collect and arrange the official datum in the Spring and Autumn Period literature and inscriptions on bronze, apply enough datum for the study of the Spring and Autumn Period official system, meanwhile in order to confirm whether the official is more near to "Zhouli" than the West Chou, it fully compares every official with that of the West Chou and "Zhouli" by position, duty and official system.The third part, the comparison between the official system of the Spring and Autumn Period, the West Chou and that of "Zhouli". It will synthesize the official system of the Spring and Autumn Period, the West Chou and the "Zhouli" in an attempt to find out th'e similarities and differences. Then we can ascertain the real written time of the book.After comparison and study of the official system in different period, we consider that the six kinds of official system of "Zhouli" is neither same as the ministry composed of Qingshi and the chief historical ministers in the West Chou Period, nor same as the official system of the separation between civilian and military posts in the Warring States Period, but it is in accord with the Spring and Autumn in official system. Through reviewing the Chief Minister, we can ensure that the written time of the "Zhouli" must not be earlier than the late Spring and Autumn Period.
