| The thesis analyses the secular tendency in the art of ancient Greece and Rome and its cultural background in the viewpoint of iconography and sociology. It is expected to be a complementary part to generally recognized qualities in Greek and Roman art: noble, pure, tranquil and great, so as to understand the classic art comprehensively. In addition, the thesis finally illustrates why Winklemann beautified the classic art in ancient Greece. |
