| The purpose of the phenomenology of Xin Xing is to grasp the essence of mindfulness through conceptual intuition. In this context,Iso Kern’s use of “seeing the invisible and hearing the silent” as a description of the mental state of tranquil consciousness has given rise to discussion. In this regard,we need to go back to Luo Hongxian to explore the situation in which his tranquil consciousness arose and what problem“sturning silence and convergence” was taken in to solve. Therefore, the structure of this paper is as follows: to sort out Luo Hongxian’s thought that arose under the influence of Li Zhong,Nie Bao,and Wang Ji,which has a general direction to adhere to but lacks a core concept and point of view, and is prone to hesitate in a wide range of doctrines. It is clarified that Luo Hongxian’s denial of the presented liangzhi and the ontological understanding of liangzhi,as well as his disappointment with other ways of achieving liangzhi, led him to propose the collection of “sturning silence and convergence” as his own way of achieving liangzhi. On this basis, the idea of tranquil consciousness is clarified, and finally, tranquil consciousness is specified as an examination of the “view” and the “thing viewed”.As for Luo Hongxian’s liangzhi,it can be summarized that there is a difference between the original state of liangzhi and the presented state,in which the liangzhi itself is always perfect, while the presented liangzhi has the defect of being more or less obscured by selfish desires. The discussion of Tranquil consciousness can be summarized as follows:tranquil consciousness is not conceived to challenge intentionality but to enrich the interpretation of consciousness. |
