Ban Gu Biographer Main Spirit And "han" Biography,

The subjective spirit of the biographer plays a vital role in his or her creating process. This dissertation analyses the cause and effect of Ban Gu's subjective spirit as the writer of "Han Shu" , and therefore provides the basis for the further discussion on it's effect on the writing characteristics of "Han Shu" .This dissertation can be divided mainly into two parts. The first part analyses the effect of Ban Gu s subjective spirit on " Han Shu" from four aspects: his choice of the figures, his comments on these figures, his choice and treatment of the materials, and his writing methods. The second part analyses the cause of Ban Gu's subjective spirit from his family, his life, his personality as well as the history background. In the conclusion, the dissertation points out that Ban Gus subjective spirit actually plays a effective part in the formation of Han Shus writing characteristics.
