Traditional static test has been the important tool in assessment the ability of individual, but some limitations were found that it fail to provide information about individual's potential. So, dynamic test came into bring. The aim of dynamic test is to measure the cognitive potential of individual, Vygotsky ' s zone of proximal development (ZPD)is its underlying theory background . The model of dynamic test is test -teach -test. The purpose of this research were (1) Comparing performance of static test and dynamic test to verify that it is necessary to integrate the two method in assessment the ability of individual; (2)Discussing that the factors of age and gender influence on dynamic test performance.76 pupil which are from three elementary school in Beijing Chaoyang District took part in this experiment. And this experiment was designed for scale measurement. The test was given in two parts: at first all children participate in static test, they were divided into two groups depending on the performance of static test, and then dynamic test is measured. The main conclusion (1) The performance difference of two groups is very significant in static test, and in dynamic test the two group ' s difference is nonsignificant. This result demonstrates that in order to know or assess the children's ability overall, it had better to integrate the performance of static and dynamic test; (2) In the condition of dynamic test, with the help of examiner , the performance improvement of subjects is in the middle size; (3) Male and female children have no significant different in dynamic test performance; (4) Age difference of children has significant in dynamic test performance. Together the static and dynamic test can provide more information about a child's ability than either one alone.
