As west capitalism countries inbroke China in politics,economy,military affairs,culture and so on,The form of chorus was spreaded to China about 20 century.At the end of Qing dynasty and the beginning of Republic of China,the first chinese chorus works produced by west melodizing technique came into being. Cinese chorus composition was the beginning of western poly-voice musical culture spreading into China and integrating with Chinese musical culture. During 1930抯 to 1940抯,for the rising of Chinese social music movement, the development of the professional musical education and the summon of time spirit,the production of chinese chorus developed to a flourishing new phrase that never appeared before.The theme range ,idea and artistry of chorus works all have a change in quality.This article will review the occuring and developing process of chorus ,a kind of western musical cultural form and analysis and study common form character of chinese chorus works during 1930抯 andl94O抯.
