| This thesis~jnade up of three chapters. Chapter one: Love-Drama of Yuan dynasty in comparison with Love-romaunt of Tang Dynasty. This part includes three sections. First, Yuan-drama inherits its subject matter from Love-romaunt of Tang. The authors of Yuan-drama rebuild the subject of Tang-romaunt and write many new works. Analyze the images of two kinds: Confucian-scholar and prostitute or concubine. Analyze the reason of exoteric habits of marriage. Then compared and contrasted the love-drama and love-romaunt from marriage idea, images of female and Confucian-scholar. Chapter two: the zeitgeist of Yuan Love-drama. The authors put forward a new criterion of marriage. They insist that the passion is the most important factor in marriage, love is important than fame and family status. They extolled the purity of love and promoted democratic consciousness and optimistic consciousness. They rebelled against feudal ethics and old convention and stressed strong individual character and freedom. Chapter three: the origin of individual thought. The Yuan love- drama authors?violence revolt to the grade-system is the most important cause. In addition, the affect of townspeople抯 thought, and the intergradation of two kinds of different culture cannot be ignored. |
