This paper attempts to discuss the significant differences between pre-and post Roland Barthes's concepts of narrative theory, which greatly reflected in his critical works. So The thesis firstly explores Roland Barthes' pre-and post narrative concepts, and then uses semiotic theory to explore the internal logic of change, finds the changes are inevitable,owing to his development of the concepts of narrative theory.Secondly, by analyzing and Researching his representative critical monographs such as "mythology", "popular system"," S/Z" and "Lovers Discourse" deeply. As well as his pre-and post narrative concept should be used to find inter-relate among these works. Finally, on the theory of longitudinal pre-and post contrast shows the theoretical achievements and limitations.The paper is divided into five parts:In Foreword,it will introduce and Summarize of the development of narratology and theoretical significance of this article; In the first chapter, it recalls the development process of Barthes'structure narratology:the beginning,the development, the end and the turning point of his narrative theory, by researching the combination of "Mythologies", "popular system" for supporting the development process; In the second chapter,there will analyze the semiotics basement of the concept of change on narrative logic; In the third chapter, the paper attempts to summarize the post narrative views, by exploring a lot of fragmented narrative concepts in "Roland Barthes·readme", then find the impact between "S/Z" and "Lovers Discourse"; Finally the last part, I will briefly claims the role Barthe played in the history of in the Western literature theory and narratology.
