General Negatives Typological Study

After researching into the word order of negative morphemes in the 124 ethnic languages taken as samples,this thesis investigates the types of the negative morphemes and their relevance from the perspective of word order.The thesis is organized as follows:Chapter 1 introduces some general aspects of negation and earlier typologies conclusions.Chapter 2 concentrates on the typology investigation of the nature of morphemes coding clausal negation in declarative sentences. By clausal negation we mean the simple negation of an entire clause.Chapter 3 discusses word order concerning negative morphemes and the relevant issues. The cross-linguistic distribution of negative morphemes and verb gets us some typological generalization.Chapter 4 summarizes the most important findings of the study and discusses prospects for future study.
