| Headlines are the connecting bridge between readers and news reports, which summarize the main contents of the full texts and direct us towards the means of access to information; fully understand and grasp the titles, is generally a quick way to grasp the full text. Pay attention on the titles and analyse them, so that students fully understand and grasp them.In this way,they can get information quickly and effectively,which are important to cultivate their newspaper reading ability and improve their Chinese language ability and level.The paper argues that we should start from the headlines to cultivate students'abilities of accessing information quickly and skills of newspaper reading.Learning from the research results of schema theory, we simulate a cognitive schemata of understanding Chinese newspaper headlines. And with the combination of schema theory and results of an investigation, we try to identify the difficulties which foreigner students meet when they are reading Chinese newspaper headlines, and then propose appropriate teaching methods to help students activate or establish a pattern of Chinese newspaper headlines, in order to achieve the teaching objectives of understanding, predicting and appreciating,and also to lay the foundation for realizing the training objectives of Newspaper Reading... |
