The utilitarianism of market makes Chinese people become instrumental being in the pursuit of success, yet contemporary Chinese society is in greater need of people who can meet modern spirits to construct a civil education equipped with basic moral psychology. As an important part of education system, examination is the tool to select, identify, evaluate and measure human beings, which selects talents from all levels of Chinese society, stands as a mode of society resources deallocation and works as an important mechanism to bond the whole societal mobility. The existence of examination must receive criticism from morality and arrangements according to the ethical standards. This paper analyses the college entrance examination, civil service examination, etc., which draws extensive attention and already forms a systematic examination regulation from the perspective of ethics, drawing from the past research of relevant systematic ethics, deriving from the basis of sociology, politics, history, pedagogics etc. and through profund analysis of examination system of the past and present, points out the notion of value including justice, fairness, competition, honesty and rationality that existed in the examination system.The rigid examination system has its advantages and disadvantages in societal practice. The reason for the existence of examination system as a way to select talents lies in the fact that the whole society acknowleges a person's talent by his grade in national examination rather than the power and wealth taken by his or her family. In ancient times, influenced by the ideas of preserving the great unificatioin, the Confucian rule of Li, rule of virtue, people-based rule, fairness, knowledge-based rule and the idea of a good scholar will make an official, etc., the examination culture forms the value orientation of open objects, integrated standard, fair opportunity and contest mobility. Up until now, this kind of examination opinion and value orientation is still the key principle of examination. The ethical arrangement of examination system can not only improve the living environment and social positon of every societal member through study, development and opportunity but also stimulate personal potential and keep the vitality of society.On the other hand, the deviation of original design and practice of examination system from ethical spirit:the public deviating from the private, conflicts between righteousness and profit, the difficulty in maintaining justice and science, the seemingly harmony between virtue and talent, contradiction between glory and shame, clash between initiative and effect, and the deviation of system ethical value in present examination system---utilitarian outcome theory, the suppression of indivicual freedom, clash of parent-offspring echics, deviation of negation of negation, the challenge against fair play, the lack of honesty principle, etc., which will be analysed in detail in the paper.Only optimum of examination system can push the development of the whole society. The examination system is faced with revolution, like Rolls said, "a kind of theory, no matter how delicate and simple it is, will have to be refused and revised as long as it is not real." Yet the ethical motivation of examination system revolution is an everlasting pursuit of "the good" that the theoretical appeal of examination system revolution and key guiding value orientation is to carry out Maxist Human Studies to realize the free and overall development of people; realize individual liberation and development of the objects of examination through examination system revolution; reveal the highest value target by the examination ethics of scientific rationality; carry on the Chinese traditional ideas of developing the moral beauty of the examination objects, etc.. The pursuit of rational ethical value displayed in revolution provide a reliable guarantee to achieve the justice from its procedures and essence and that of the stability and harmony of society, and the welfare of people.The last part of the paper puts forward with the idea that, the revelatioin of examination system ethics will help construct a harmonious society, promote the reasonable mobility of classes, advance the rational development of school education, build the societal credit system, remold the system of talent evaluation and prevent the corruption of public power. It will contribute to the ethical arrangement of examination system as a key to solve the social problems of Chinese society.
