This paper review the resaos,process and influence of the Soviet Bloc military assistance to Israel on 1947.12-1949.1.The paper falls into three chapters.Chaper one review the reason and change of the Soviet Union policy in the Palenstine question. After World WarⅡ, the Soviet main objective of its foreign policy is to maintain Yalta system and buid a seat belt in its southern board.However, Soviet failed in Greek,Turkey and Iran crisis.At this time,the British mandate in Palestine fall into conjuncture,and put it to United Nations. This provided a good opportunity to the Soviet Union intervene in the Palestine question. In order to compete with the Anglo-American in Middle East, the Soviet Union changed the foreign policy from oppose Zionist to support Jews build a state in Palestine. This is the root of the Soviet Bloc military assistance to Israel.Chaper two discusses the specific implementation process of the the Soviet bloc military assistance to Israel. This is the focus of this paper.The beginning stage of assistance is on 1947.12 to 1948.2.After United Nations partition of Palestine resolution on November 1947,the conflict of Arab and Jewish intensified. Czechoslovakia began to provide military assistance in which mainly small arms to the Jews,because the domestic economy fall into plight.The climax stage of assistance is on 1948.2 to 1948.11. After the February incident on 1948 in Czechoslovakia, and in particular after the founding of Israel in May 1948, the official Palestinian war outbreak, the Soviet bloc military assistance to Israel began to increased significantly,which including the provision of aircraft, tanks and other heavy weapons; trained Israeli pilots, paratrooper; organized training volunteers.The end stage of assistance is on 1948.11-1949.1.After November 1948, because the Palestine war have been drawing to a close,and the sustained pressure of Britain and U.S.A,the cooling diplomatic relations of the Soviet bloc with Israel, The military assistance gradually reduced, and go to end after signed a cease-fire agreement between Arab and Israel in early 1949.Chapter three analyzes the impact of the Soviet bloc military assistence to Israel. The military impact is to help Israel siege to the Arab countries, won the victory of the War of Independence; The political influence is to changed political landscape of the entire Middle East, for laying the seeds for future Israeli-Arab conflict.
