This paper takes unearthed pottery"dakouzun" of xi and shang dynasty as research object,using the statistics,archaeological taxonomy and cultural analysis,etc,to discuss the name taxonomy,division, distribution and the ethnicity,etc.On the foundation of previous research,this paper studies the function,and,explain some question about pottery"dakouzun".This paper is divided six part:Introduction:including the definition about poterry concept, explaition of the naming principle of pottery and the naming of pottery "dakouzun", introduction of the significance,method and technical routes of this paper.Introduced the principle of academic named pottery and named "dakouzun", on the study of pottery "dakouzun" in this paper,of witch gives the definition and description, this article briefly describes the significance research methods and technical routes of the topic.ChapterⅠ:Taxonomy.By archaeological stratigraphy and taxonomy principle,pottery "dakouzun" is divided into 3 types and 12 subtypes,and then,each type is divided into various types.On this basis, this paper divided the pottery "dakouzun" in Xia and Shang Dynasties into six ages and eight parts.Among them,the first phase including lth and 2th times, is equivalent of ErlitouⅡandⅢ.The second phase is 3th time, the equivalent of ErlitouⅣ. The third phase including 4th and 5th times, is the equivalent of Erligang lower.The fourth phase is 6th time, equivalent to the Erligang up layerⅠ. The fifth phase is 7th time, equivalent to Erligang up layerⅡ. The sixth phase is 8th time,equivalent to the early Yin Ruins. Overall, the pottery "dakouzun" in Xia and Shang Dynasties respect the same strain, no obvious missing link, through the production, development, peak, decline and demise of several stages.ChapterⅡ:Distribution of pottery "dakouzun". Approximate range of distribution:in the North to the South of Shanxi, in the west to east of guanzhong, in the south to the Yangtze River, in the East to western of Shandong, which is related to the area of the Xia and Shang dynasties.This chapter distributes the areas of pottery "dakouzun" into eight types,such as Erlitou type, Yangzhuang type, the Dongxiafeng-Taixi type, Lu Tai Gong type,Erligang type, Dachengdun type, Baijiazhuang and Yin type, showing "a source of many-body" of the distribution pattern. In generally, the distribution of pottery "dakouzun", embodies the culture of the Central Plains Xia and Shang Dynasties expansion to the surrounding area.ChapterⅢ:The function. According to historical background, characteristics of their shapes, the number of unearthed, distribution and ancient text and literature documents,etc,about pottery "dakouzun",we suggest that pottery "dakouzun" was the special pottery for making wine or storage of wine in Xia and Shang dynasty.This function of pottery "dakouzun" is closely related to the development of wine industry and people's drinking habits wind.ChapterⅣ:Related Issues. The name of some pottery is same as "dakokuzun" in the prehistoric times and Western Zhou Dynasty,but,that "dakouzun" is no necessary link to pottery "dakouzun", discussed in this paper. There are some issues about pottery "dakouzun",such as carved symbols, ceramic characteristics, production technology,etc, required further study.Conclusion:The brief summary and some basic understanding of this paper.
