Dakouzun is an important culture relic, which occupys an important position in the Chinese culture. This paper takes the Neolithic Dakouzun as the research object, makes the quantity statistics comprehensively, divides it into five categories, and summorizes its development and evolution laws. The symbols engraved on the surface are one of the extrodinary characteristics of Dakouzun, and this paper has also made the statistics and classification of these symbols. On the basis, by analyzing its unearthed environment,combining with the research results and theoretical methods of archeology, anthropology, and arts, this papar investigates the implication of Dachouzun's shape and the symbols on its surface, analyzes the esthetics value of the symblos and studys the function and the nature of Dakouzun. Dakouzun, standing for wealth and status were always unearthed from important remains. They were possessed by powerful class exclusively , which reflected the division and opposition of social class at that time.Dakouzun's shape originated from the imitation of virilia, which was a result of ancestor worship. Dakouzun's unique placing way was the reflection of primitive's concept of reproductive worship and the idea of world which was gathered with masculine and feminine elements. The symbols'composition corresponding to the gold proportion, can not only reflect the esthetics thought of the ancients, but also contained enormous cultural values. They were endowed with the function of communicating between heaven and earth. So, they were symbols of power. Dakouzun and the symbols reflected the concentration and the combination of political and wealth. They also reflected that, in the lower and middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the Sulu Yu-wan regions, the late Neolithic archaeological culture has been developing rapidly in the process of civilization.
