Bamboo Xunyou,

My graduation work is searching for charming scenery in bamboo groves.That means to stroll through the bamboo groves, and then quiet atmosphere impresses me, and I want very much to paint it. Compared with the previous works of plaster sketch that I cannot exactly know what their themes are when I painted them and I couldn't grasp the rhythm of the whole picture, searching for the charming scenery has had a great change ,and improved expressing dynamism of my works. What I have experienced is: Firstly, the theme of a painting is produced when facing the nature. And the theme is just like a human soul which bestows vigor and thought to him. And then he can flexibly use basic training and can have consequent expression of painting methods. Secondly, while painting embodies the individual creating, the basis is to grasp the common painting conception. A painter must clearly know the conception and then he can just make his picture to a perfect situation, and amplify his own individual creation. Given that above to experience and see my graduation work, I think there are lots of problems in my works. For example, my thinking is not rigorous enough, and painting is not careful enough and painting language is not characteristic. However, the direction about how I will strive afterwards is very clearer for me than any time.
