Mother Work Family Conflict, Mental Health And Child Anxiety Study

Work-family conflict refers to that when the pressures come from work and family and when they appear uncompromising contradictions in some ways, they will produce a role conflict interaction. Maternal work-family conflict refers to the professional mother has a role conflict feeling which comes from work and family due to the job affecting mother to performance the family duty or family affairs affecting mother to complete the job tasks.Mental health refers to a continuous psychological status. In this status, the individual has the vigor and positive inner experience, good social adaptation, and the individual can effectively exert personal physical and mental potentials and positive social function.Anxiety is a negative mood mixed with nervous, anxious, worries feelings which often occur when the individual is conscious of a threat from internal and external stimulations, or the individual realizes that he is not access to goals and not to overcoming some obstacles.The previous researches show the relationship between professional women work-family conflict and mental health, there are also studies the relation of the maternal mental health and preschool children anxiety. The results demonstrate that the relation between work-family conflicts and mental health is in a positive correlation, as the same to maternal mental health and preschool children anxiety.Few research explores the relation between maternal work-family conflict and preschool children anxiety.Since maternal work-family conflict affects mental health problems,and maternal mental health influnces preschool children anxiety,does the maternal work-family conflict indirectly affects children's anxiety level by maternal mental health? Based on the hypothesis, the study will explore the relation of the three variables.The main research significance of this study is contribute to enrich the theory of the preschool children's psychological development.Research results can help the mothers recognize that work-family conflict can affect their children's anxiety, and their own emotions affect their children's mental health they should consciously adjust their emotions. The results also provide the measures to help mother to solve maternal work-family conflict problems to promote the health development of children's emotions.308 children aged 3-6 were randomly selected from three kindergartens in Beijing. The measure tools of Work-Family Conflict Scale, Spence Children's Anxiety Scale and SCL-90 were used to investigate these children's mothers. The findings are as follows:1. The mother's work-family conflict feeling level is low, and is mainly manifested in the conflict based on time, and the direction of work to family conflicts are the main reason of impacting work-family conflict. The research shows that mothers with different education experiences and mothers working in different property units are no significant difference on the total score of the work-family conflict. And the finding is same to different sexes, different ages preschool children's mothers.2. Maternal mental health status is better with no obvious symptoms. The mothers of different education experiences are no significant differences on the total score of the mental psychology. And the finding is same to different ages preschool children's mothers. But the mothers of working in different property units are significant difference.3. The level of the preschool children's anxiety is low, and the children's anxiety mainly displays in fear of physical injury, dissociative anxiety, and social anxiety.Different sexes, different ages preschool children are no significant differences on the anxiety total score but the preschool children whose mothers with different education experiences and with working in different property units are significant difference on the total anxiety score.4. The relationship of maternal work-family conflict,mental health, preschool children anxiety, are significant positive correlation.Maternal mental health is complete mediating role between maternal work-family conflict and preschool children anxiety.
