Zither passed down from generation to generation for ages is one of the expressive instruments. Recently, it has enjoyed a great popularity in the society. With the rapid development of Zither, the number of zither-learners has reached 3 million. However, there are not enough teaching staff and learners have a great burden of practicing zither in their daily life. Due to it, "1+1" Zither Basis Teaching Approach has appeared. It is applied to the teaching for preschoolers and elementary students, who are young and amateur. Such approach has lasted for 3 years since 2007, and researchers have conducted teaching experiments in more than 100 classes, videoed over 1,000 hours of teaching and researching records. Also it has turned out to be a remarkable method to improve the utilization of the existing teachers, the efficiency of teaching and learning, which can achieved the effect of easy teaching and happy learning. Thus, the essay discusses the approach applied to Changzhou branch of Wang Xiaoping Training Center through case studies, interviews as well as direct observation, refines its teaching designs and explores its advantages and theoretical foundation. In the end it draws to the conclusion that the teaching approach is well worth popularizing.
