Cao Song(about 830- about 901),late Tang dynasty poet. He made Jia Dao's kuyinshi as his study of poetry and he had became another phenomenon of poet which can't be ignored in late Tang dynasty besides other famous bards of tang dynasty such as Li Shangyin, Du Mu, Wen Tingyun. Although his information scattered in many historical records, but mostly as a word-type description, there is no exact study about cao song's poem and art. This paper is base on this, and make further study about Cao Song's of thought and poetic art song,in order to study contributing of Cao Song.This article is divided into four chapters, and make stufy from the Cao Song ideas and art of poetry two aspects:first and the second chapter is a idiscussion of Cao Song's thought. His thoughts and poems is similar as kuyinshi poets fang gan, chen tao and lu gui meng. showing the tangle characteristics of Confucianism and Buddhism. specifically, in early time,cao song want to be a manager. It is because of influence of Confucian officialdom, external performance for the life assiduously to poetry, in order to complete their first one Feats ideal. Later, because of the decadent ruling class, the darkness of society, in the imperial hopeless, cao put his heart into buddhism in order to transcend the reality of depression, but still can not be completely free from deep-rooted Confucian thought. Therefore, in cao's mind, Confucianism is first, and buddhism is second and secondary. These two thoughts are together and tangled. In his whole life, Confucianism is mainly in early time, well buddhism is in later time. the Third and four chapters focus on "emotion" and "scene" of his poems, making study. In the fluence Confucianism and buddhism's tangle, there is corresponding characteristics of Cao Song's poems. There is confucianism"rule the world" in early time, so his poem is full of strong emotions. in addition to make contributions to the pride, there are family, friendship and the feeling of love for rivers and mountains of the motherland.and he displaced the turmoil, cherished plight of the people's sympathy and compassion. in addition, there is blame about the rulers of the top complaints of corrupt rule. In a word, the truest feeling which can't be hidden in his poems are all the outward appearance of his Confucian thought. Later, because of the despair and helpless of the ruler's rotten of the day, Cao realized that his hope of building his careers is unrealistic, then he began his seclusion life for more than twentu years under the subjective and objective influence. And his poems are veer from feeling to the blossomed description of the serene and isolated mountains and forests which are full of Zen, these poems reflect the life of his seclusion and the clean and simply of his heart. It is due to Cao Song making Kuyin as his poem, especially the hashing on the second joint which are witten about the views of the poem has achieved the creative and fresh characteristic of his poems.
