Vomiting was a class of symptom meant poor decending action of stomach, adverse ascending of Qi, resulting in the food and phlegm upwell from the stomach, out from the mouth.Athough vomiting was first found in The Yellow Emperor's Internal Canon of Medicine, the article about vomiting disease in Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber created a precedent of bianzhenglunzhi of TCM on vomiting disease, the article discussed the disease in detail and made integrated principles, methods and pharmacy.This article was also the milestone for the development of TCM.Vomiting was a common disease in Chinese internal medicine and its development experienced a long historical period : formed in the Qin and Han dynasties, beginned in the Jin and Tang, developed in Song and Yuan, prospered in Ming and Qing dynasties. In the long historical process, the ancient physicians explored the essence and summed up the rules through clinical practice, made it more plentiful and substantial, so as to form a system of disease which had complete etiology . pathogenesis and treatment.Since these statements were scattered in the writings of physicians, the induction was insufficiency in the literature so far. This dissertation was from the perspective of historical development and literature collating to investigate the pointcut of the vomiting disease article in Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber .The dissertation was divided into four parts: the first part discussed the evolution of this disease; second part dealed with the deduction of the name on vomiting,the third part showed the formation about bianzhenglunzhi of the syndrome and made an deeply study on the establishment of the name ,also the classification , progressive improvement of etiology and pathogenesis, development of diagnosis and symptom, continuously innovation and complement of principles. methods and pharmacy of the disease respectively according to different historical periods, the forth part summarized macroscopical rules on bianzhenglunzhi , explained the development track of etiology, diagnosis and treatment in vomiting disease. The dissertation made the source and history of the vomiting disease systematized according to the developmental stage by sorting out and concluding the literature deeply and studying systemically, studied the development in accordance with the name of the disease, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of syndrome in each historical period, also summarized the evolution and development of each part so as to achieve a profound understanding of the nature of vomiting disease, to provide valuable information and improve clinical treatment on vomiting disease in the theoretical literature for future development.
