Cancer-related anemia results from malignant tumor, chemotherapy radiotherapy and so on. It occurs in high probability. Which caused by the cancer chemotherapy drops in the overall incidence is up to 50%. Not only cancer chemotherapy-related anemia can impact quality of life and curative effect, but also it can reduce the rate of the accomplish and efficiency of chemotherapy. badly influence the further effect. Both blood transfusion and recombination human erythropoietin (rHuEPO) are the main measure for this anemia. nevertheless, the short maintenance, toxic-side effect and high price limit their clinical application to some degree. Therefore, people are exploring new methods and drugs which can have lasting clinical effect and solve this problem radically.Guided by the Theories of Chinese Medicine:"the kidney is the congenital foundation, while the spleen is the postnatal foundation.""Qi serves as the commander of the blood, and blood being mother of qi", deficiency of spleen and kidney is the main causation, according to which, strengthening the spleen, reinforcing the kidney, invigorating qi and nourishing blood is established as therapeutic principle. At the basis of project,41 cases were admitted in first-grade, first-class Beijing hospital from when one period of treatment was finished. They were divided into two groups on principle of minimizing imbalance index in anemia degree and previous chemotherapy cycles. Tracking the clinical research plan, we divided 41 cases into 2 groups in random based on sex and primary organs. The trial group contained 20 cases and the control group did 21 cases. The finding indicates the condition as follows:After 4 weeks'treatment,①Before chemotherapy, the differentiations of average hemoglobin (Hb) and Red blood cell (RBC) level of 2 groups were not evident in statistics (P>0.05).After chemotherapy, average Hb and RBC level droped in control group but increased evidently in trial group (P<0.05). The average Hb,RBC and Hematocrit in blood (HCT) level of the trial group was apparently far higher than of the control group (P<0.05);②The grade of clinical symptoms fell gradually in trial group.6 of them showed significant improvement (30.00%),14 of them had response (70.00%) and no cases were futile (0.00%). The response rate was 100.00%. At the same time, in the control group 1 of them improved significantly (9.52%),13 of them had response(61.90%)and 7 cases were futile (33.33%), t he response rate was 66.67%. Further more, the trial group descended excessively (P<0.05). The response rate of clinical symptoms in the trial group remarkably excelled the control group (P<0.05).③The median score of Karnofsky performance status (KPS) after therapy, there were 2 cases attained advancement 10%),18 cases kept steady(90%) in trail group. At the same time, in control group there was no case attained advancement,13 cases kept steady (61.90%), and 8 cases decline (38.10%). The response rate was 100.00% vs 61.90%. It was validated that the trail group gained superior in KPS (P<0.05).④Toxic-side effects caused by chemotherapy included decrease of white blood cell count (WBC) and platelet(PLT), which showed no significant difference (P>0.05) in both groups. Nausea and vomit caused by chemotherapy, there were 5 cases happened ofⅠ/Ⅱdegree(25.00%) and 0 cases ofⅢ/Ⅳdegree in trail group, at the same time,11 cases happened ofⅠ/Ⅱdegree(52.38%) and 2 cases ofⅢ/Ⅳdegree(9.52%)in trail group. It was validated that the trail group gain superior in side effects by chemotherapy includes nausea and vomit. This shows that Fufang Ejiao Jiang can resist or even cure the cancer chemotherapy-related anemia, alleviate clinical symptoms and improve quality of life for patients, and reduce the side effects by chemotherapy includes nausea and vomit.
