Purpose: Discussing reasons and Countermeasures of early complications that occurred in the postoperative internal fixation of calcaneus fractures.Material and method: From May, 2007 to March, 2009, 21 people with 22 feetwere adopted to excide and restore calcaneus by internal fixation with steel plate in order to cure Sanders II and III types of calcaneus fractures. In these examples, patients, whose bone substance were gravely compressed or obviously defected, also accepted surgery grafting. In addition, it is important to keep observing and analyzing for the scenarios of early complications after the operation.Results:There are 3 feet (14.8%) occurred in postoperative early complications; 2 feet are about delayed cicatrisation (9.1%); 1 foot with Skin flap necrosis, deeply infection and internal fixator revealing (4.5%).Conclusion:The occurrence of postoperative early complications of intraarticular calcaneus fractures osculates mutually with the pathology and characteristics of anatomise of calcaneus fractures. Furthermore, it will be helpful to reduce and/or prevent from complications happening if following steps carefully such as choosing right timing of operation and internal fixator, and preparing carefully before the operation, attending to surgical techniques during the operation, disposing properly after the operation, and complete consideration of high risk factors (e.g.smoking).
