Objective:To discuss the significance of TCM abdominal palpation diagnosis and prognostion of malignant tumor. Methods: TCM abdominal palpation was used to observe 33 patients with malignant tumor in oncology department , affiliated hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 16, 2007 to March 1,2007,to study abdominal palpation characteristics on the patients"different diseases and symptoms , and Compare them with the traditional four examinations.Rusults: Patients"abdomen with abdominal tumors are less hard (Thirty-six percnt) or hard (Twenty percent),ninty percent of them have gastric fullness or hardness. 100 percent of the patients with liver and ascites have gastric fullness or hardness.Five patients who are all abdominal tumors have hard belly and four cases are dead in the observation period. Among the 16 patients whose tongue veins were no obvious abnormalities,the results are: Hypochordal distress and fullness in eight cases; gastric fullness or hardness in 13 cases; the sound vibration of water in five cases; eight cases have abdominal tenderness; abdominal abnormalities in 13 cases. Three cases with the normal abdominal palpation are in stable condition to the end of the period of observation, the Perfamance status is less or equal to 2 .Conclusion:Abdominal palpation is an indispensable part in the four examinations and has important diagnostic significance in clinical practice of cancer.
