By analyzing the statistics, the law in applying to Niuxi was summarized.Result: Some kinds of herbs, frequently combined with Niuxi, are as follows: The first belongs to herbs to tonify blood, then to ones to clear heat, to ones to warm the interior and tonify yang, the following is to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. Niuxi's compatibility structure, commonly contained, are as follows: Niuxi with Danggui, the one with Rougui, the one with Dihuang and etc. As for processing, alcohol-fried Niuxi is commonly used in functions of eliminating blood stasis, reinforcing the liver and kidney, strengthening the tendons and bones. Usually, small dosage of Niuxi is used in removing blood stasis, and middle dosage is used in reinforcing the liver and kidney or strengthening the tendons and bones. As for form, the exertion efficacy of Niuxi at invigorating blood is commonly to choose decoction,powder and powder in most condition; the exertion efficacy at tonifying is mostly to choose wine drug and pill; in addition, the exertion efficacy at curing stranguria by inducing diuresis and guiding fire(blood) to go downward are both taked in powder and decoction.Conclusions: all the factors, as the surroundings of compatibility, processing, dosage and form can deeply affect the functional direction of Niuxi.
