The paper consists two parts:the summaries of documents and clinical card period of study research.There are 2 summaries of documents.The first one is about the search progress of the disease in recent years including Diagnostic criteria and Pathogenesis. Clear improvement of the diagnostic criteria.The pathogenesis has not yet been clearly explained.The second one is an overview of ancient name,differentiation and treatment of common syndromes,herbal medicine and acupuncture for functional constipation(Functional Constipation,FC).The part of the clinical observation study collected the clinical data of the 105 subjects who is in the course of FC and have complete TCM clinical materials.Through macroscopic differentiation of common syndromes,according to varying degrees,symptoms score,statistics FC various symptoms and syndromes and the frequency points,and a comparative analysis,and application of cluster analysis functional constipation distribution of TCM.
