Antihistamine Treatment Of Eczema And Atopic Dermatitis Clinical Studies And Preliminary Study Of The Immune Mechanism

Atopic dermatitis and eczema present itch and lesions.This study tried to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the regimen of mizolastine and cetirizine for patients of atopic dermatitis & eczema.Methods:Ninety-two cases were enrolled in the group of mizolastine(Mizollen^?),cetirizine(Zyrtec^?), and control randomly.At the same time,all cases received treatment of(1%) cream Dyclonine HCl.The effectiveness and safety were evaluated after 2 weeks therapy.Results:There were no significant difference of baseline symptoms and signs among three groups.The final evaluation showed that the symptoms and signs improved significantly in the group of mizolastine & cetirizine,and mizolastine group improved better than cetirizine group and control group significantly.Conclusion:Mizolastine is a safe,effective medicine to manage atopic dermatitis & eczema.The level of interleukin-2(IL-2),interleukin-4(IL-4),interferon-gamma(IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α) among patients of atopic dermatitis & eczema and healthy(normal) cases were evaluated,and the level change of IL-4, IL-5,IFN-γand TNF-αamong patients of atopic dermatitis and eczema were also evaluated after two weeks regimen of mizolastine and cetirizine.Methods: All cases were enrolled in the group of mizolastine,cetirizine,and control randomly.At the same time,all cases received treatment of cream Dyclonine. The ELISA test was used to evaluate the level of IL-4,IL-5,TNF-αand IFN-βin serum.Result:The level of IL-4 and IL-5 before treatment among patients of atopic dermatitis and eczema was higher than healthy(normal) cases group significantly(p＜0.05).While the level of IFN-γamong patients of atopic dermatitis was higher than healthy(normal) cases group significantly(p＜0.05). There were no difference between atopic dermatitis & eczema group and healthy(normal) cases group(p＞0.05).Conclusion:The level of IL-4 and IL-5 in atopic dermatitis and eczema groups was higher than healthy(normal) group. The level of IFN-γamong atopic dermatitis group is higher than healthy (normal) group.After the intervention of Mizolastine and cetirizine,the level of IL-4,IL-5 and IFN-γamong eczema and atopic dermatitis declined.The influence to cell factors of mizolastine is higher than cetirizine.
